Malta International Airport ended 2014 with 12 record months and a total of 4,290,304 passenger movements. The numbers translate into 6.4% year-on-year growth. This was achieved following a number of airlines adding frequency and opening new routes with seat capacity increasing by 4.8%. Growth was also a result of an improvement in seat load factor achieved by airlines as this increased by 1.2% to reach overall average of 79.7%

 

The outlook for 2015 remains positive. Seat capacity is being forecast to grow resulting in an estimated throughput in excess of 4.6 million passengers, which will translate into a 2% increase in traffic over 2014.

   shares held by the Government of Malta and the remaining 30% traded in shares.
